Who is in the water

An instructor is in the water with every swimmer, and another adult joins where a swimmer needs more hands. The board shows how many swimmers each instructor has in every level, and the checks our instructors hold.

Safety routines

  • Getting in

The instructor sets up the ramp, the lift or the steps before the swimmer arrives. Nobody is hurried; the swimmer chooses when.

  • Parents and caregivers

A parent or caregiver stays on site during every class and watches from the deck or the viewing area. A caregiver in the water is planned at the placement visit.

  • Equipment

Boards, noodles and belts are rinsed and checked between classes, and the lift is tested before each session.

  • Unwell or closed

We tell families by text when a pool closes, and a missed class is made up in the same session.
