Questions families ask
How does a placement visit work?
A short time at one of our pools with an instructor. We ask what helps, get in the water at your swimmer's pace and suggest a level. A parent or caregiver stays for all of it.
What if my swimmer needs a ramp or a lift?
Tell us when you book. Every pool has a ramp, a lift or steps, and the page on our pools says which pool has what.
Can a caregiver come in the water?
Yes, if it helps. Tell us at the placement visit and we will plan together where the caregiver stands and when they step back.
What is a level?
A group of skills, from getting in and settling to longer swims, with a dot color so everyone can see where a class is. Ages are not part of a level, and the instructor decides when a swimmer moves on.
How long is a class?
A class lasts forty-five minutes. A session runs eight weeks, and the summer weeks run by the week.
What do we bring?
A swimsuit or swim shirt, a towel and a change of clothes. Goggles, a cap or a favorite float are welcome if they help.
Where do I watch?
From the deck or the viewing area at each pool. A parent or caregiver stays on site during every class.
Who is in the water with my swimmer?
An instructor, with another adult where a swimmer needs more hands. The board on our safety page shows how many swimmers each instructor has in each level. Lessons are no substitute for adult supervision.
What if we miss a class?
You can make it up in another class of the same level within the session, space allowing. Tell us as early as you can.
How does tuition work?
It depends on the level, the class length and the classes a week. Our figures are on the enrollment page, and the page on how tuition works explains each part.
